BlackBerry Classic

The BlackBerry Classic is a premium range smartphone that saw the comeback of beloved BlackBerry features such as a navigation key from its predecessor, the BlackBerry 10. The phone comes with the company’s familiar QWERTY keyboard.

The Classic or 11 comes with a 3.5-inch square touchscreen with 720 x 720 p resolution with 294 PPI pixel density that shows text, videos and images with clarity albeit on a currently outdated, small screen. The BlackBerry 11 is encased in a stainless steel frame for both grip and protection. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla 3 from extensive damage. The phone measures a short, 131 x 72.4 x 10.2 mm while weighing a hefty 178 grams. A touchscreen navigation key has made a reappearance below the display which its predecessor lacked.

The phone runs BB 10 OS on a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 chipset with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor with 2GB of RAM. Although mobile processes slow down with these numbers, they will enable the phone to multitask. The phone has an appreciable 16GB of storage that is expandable to an expansive 128GB with an SD card.

The phone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, illumination, flash and touch focus, in addition to image and video stabilization to take adequately clear images with enough light. The camera has an f/2.2 aperture that will require ample light to take quality pictures. The camera also records 1080p videos at 30fps. The front camera is 2-megapixels with 3x digital zoom and 720p videos. The device runs on a 2,515mAh non-removable Li-ion battery that lasts about ten hours.

The Blackberry 11 supports a single nano-SIM, 4G LTE networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n on the 2.4 GHz spectrum and 802.11 a/n on the 5 GHz spectrum, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS for improved navigation abilities, Blackberry Maps, and Blackberry Tag NFC technology that allows two Blackberry devices next to each other to transfer content. Sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, hall sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and magnetometer. It also features a microUSB 2.0 for data syncs and charging.
