Coolpad Mega 2.5D

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has introduced a budget smartphone in the form of Coolpad Mega 2.5D. The device is available exclusively via Amazon and comes in champagne, gold, and silver colour options. 

The Mega 2.5D uses its own custom UI on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow like other Chinese devices. The highlight of the Cool UI 8.0 skin is that it allows users to change the way it looks. 
Although, the device comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera that is paired with an LED flash the images fail to provide detail. Night time shots look noisy. The front-camera performs much better while it comes down to video calling and selfies.

The device has an internal storage capacity of 16GB which can further be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The 5.5-inch HD display is bright and vivid and is paired with wide viewing angles that holds up in bright light as well. 

The device is capable of handling day-to-day tasks such as web browsing, movie playback, social networking, and YouTube videos flawlessly courtesy an octa-core MediaTek processor and 3GB of RAM. The device tends to lag while playing graphic-intensive games like FIFA 16 or Asphalt 8. Backed up by a Li-Ion 2,500 mAh cell, the smartphone can last for an entire day for an average user. 

Despite the plastic body, the smartphone looks and feels good thanks to the soft matte finish. The curved back panel paired with flat edges makes it easy to hold. Weighing a mere 140 grams, it is one of the lightest big-screen phones around. Connectivity options on the Mega 2.5D include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and a microUSB 2.0 port.
