Intex Aqua Life II

The Aqua Life II from Indian manufacturer Intex is among the many handsets that Intex launched this year in India. The Intex Aqua Life II is a low cost Android powered handset which boasts of a 5-inch, 854 x 488 pixel display that endows it with a PPI density of around 195.

Moving on to the hardware specifications of the phone, the Aqua Life II is powered by a Spreadtrum SC7731 chipset which is made by a Taiwanese chipmaker WPG Holdings. This chipset houses a quad core ARM Cortex A7 processor that chugs along at 1.2 Ghz and also houses a Mali 400 (MP2) GPU for enhanced graphics performance. There is 1GB of RAM AND 8GB of internal memory out of which 3.38 GB is available to the user. The Intex Aqua Life II supports memory expansion using microSD cards and supports SD cards of upto 32 GB capacity.

On the connectivity front, the Intex Aqua Life II features support for GSM 900 / 1800, WCDMA 2100MHz networks, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and AGPS.

The phone happens to be a dual SIM handset with one SIM slot supporting 3g networks. The Aqua Life II boasts of a 2000 mAH battery that is offers six hours of talktime on 3g networks. The phone also claims a standby time of over 250 hours - again when latched on to 3g networks.

As for the camera, the Aqua Life II from Intex gets a 5 megapixel main camera at the rear and a 1.3 megapixel unit at the front. The main camera also gets flash support for low light imaging. The main camera is also capable of video recording.

On the software front, the Intex Aqua Life II comes loaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat at launch and is likely to get an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the not too distant future.
