Karbonn Aura 9

Homegrown manufacturer Karbonn introduced the latest affordable smartphone in the shape of Aura 9. The USP of the device is that it is backed by a massive 4,000 mAh battery which the company claims provides 10 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. The device is expected to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, Micromax Canvas Selfie 2 and others.

The device flaunts a 5-inch HD display paired with decent viewing angles and offers fair legibility when placed under direct sunlight. The low-end smartphone runs the outdated Android 4.4 KitKat and cannot be upgraded. The smartphone comes with Smart Gesture Control features that paves way for quick access to applications, even when the phone is locked.

The Karbonn Aura 9 comes with an 8-megapixel back shooter to record videos and capture images. Helping out you dim-light conditions is an LED flash. To make videos calls over Messenger and Skype, there is a 5-megapixel front camera which can also be used for clicking selfies.

Under the hood lies a mediocre 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which ensures lag-free performance but only to a certain extent. Helping users to work on multiple apps at the same time is 1GB of RAM. There is 8GB of internal storage which can further be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The Aura 9 has room to accommodate two SIM cards at the same time along with other standard connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a microUSB 2.0 port. The company has added support for 21 regional languages keeping in mind India's diverse cultural population.
