The Lava Xolo Q800 is the newest entrant into the field of budget Android handsets, launched by Lava to counter the growing influence of Micromax in the budget segment of the Indian market. The Lava Xolo Q800 features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD touch-screen with a resolution of 960 X 540. The pixel density is 244 ppi, which should be ideal for watching mobile content, not to mention images and videos on the go. The phone runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and houses a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT 6589 processor, which is same as the one that is available in the Micromax A116 Canvas HD. 1 GB RAM is more than sufficient to handle multi-tasking efficiently.

The phone has a 8 MP primary camera with LED Flash as well as a BSI sensor. The BSI sensor should be effective in terms of taking images in low-light conditions, and should give the Lava Xolo Q800 a significant advantage over other mobiles in the category when it comes to imaging. The device also has a 1.2 MP shooter at the front. In terms of multimedia, the Xolo Q800 can play back videos in Full HD 1080p. Also, the device comes with Yamaha's 168 PA music system, which is an audio enhancement technology that delivers better sound from the device. The Lava Xolo Q800 is a dual-SIM GSM device,and features fast Internet browsing and downloading of data through 3G. Standard connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and micro-USB 2.0 are also included.

The phone has a 2100 mAH battery that provides more than 6 hours of talk time on 3G. The battery is more than sufficient to last a full day's usage, which includes Internet surfing, voice calling and the occasional gaming. The phone comes with 4 GB of internal memory, of which 2.6 GB is available to the user, and the internal memory can be extended to 32 GB via micro-SD slot.
