Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Plus

The Canvas Unite 4 Plus is a full metal body smartphone from Micromax. The device is an upgraded version of the Micromax Canvas Unite 4. The smartphone has thick bezels around the display and a fingerprint scanner at the bottom. At the back of the device, is a full metal panel with Micromax logo embossed on it.

The display on the Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Plus is a 5-inch HD (1280x720) IPS panel with a pixel density of 294 PPI. The display panel is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. The imaging department is handled by an 8-megapixel primary shooter and 5-megapixel front shooter, though autofocus is only present on the rear-facing camera. To aid in low-light conditions, Micromax has equipped both the camera with LED flash. The rear-facing camera can record videos up to HD resolution.

The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Micromax’s skin on top. The operating system is filled with bloatware including many third party online shopping, and music applications; this can reduce the internal storage and at the same time it can slow down the device. The Canvas 4 Unite Plus is pre-loaded with 12 Indian regional languages, and it is paired with Micromax’s Indus keyboard with which one can use English and other regional languages at the same time while typing. The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P chipset that houses four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1GHz. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM to provide smooth multitasking. The internal storage on the device has a capacity of 16GB of which only 10GB is available to the user.

The Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Plus is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery which is rather disappointing for a device with a 5-inch screen size. The smartphone is rated to provide a talk time of 20 hours. To keep the device connected, Micromax has provided the smartphone with dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB port and GPS.
