The Q412 Fire 4G Plus features a 4.7-inch touchscreen display that shows crisp and bright colors. The display makes this a good choice of phone if you spend time looking at pictures. The display has 720 x 1280 p resolution (HD) enabling the phone to show media in good quality albeit on a smaller than usual 4.7-inch screen. This is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 against extensive damage. Aiding visuals are the phones dual front firing speakers one above and below the display that relays loud music directly at the user, widening the phone’s applications as a source of entertainment. The phone can be bought in one color only: black. The phone features volume and power buttons on the right edge.

The phone runs 5.1 Lollipop on a MediaTek MT6735 chipset with a 1.0 GHz four-core processor and 1GB of RAM that enable the phone to multitask. Unfortunately, these do nothing for the phone’s speed, instead, limiting it to running simple apps. Graphics on the phone is handled by a Mali-T720MP2 GPU that handles games and HD videos. Onboard storage is limited to 8GB of which only 3.41GB is available to the user while the rest is taken up by necessary apps and data. Storage space is expandable to 32GB with a memory card.

The primary/rear camera is 8-megapixels that takes acceptably clear images. Aiding photography is the camera’s autofocus and LED flash for low light conditions. Videos can be recorded and played back at 720p at 15fps. The secondary/front camera is 5-megapixels for selfies that also takes passably clear pictures. The phone is powered by a 2,000mAh battery that stays alive for about 8 hours with normal use.

The phone supports dual micro-SIM phone with 4G LTE networks for faster mobile internet browsing, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS for navigation and a microUSB 2.0 port. Sensors on the phone are an accelerometer, gravity, light and proximity sensors.
