Micromax Selfie 2 Note

Micromax announced the release of yet another device, the Micromax Selfie 2 Note, keeping up with their legacy of releasing devices and adding suffixes such as "pro" and "note" to it. The Micromax Selfie 2 Note's target audience is selfie enthusiasts who spend extended periods of time clicking photos of themselves.

The Micromax Selfie 2 note sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720x1280, protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The primary camera is 13-megapixels with a 1/3" sensor, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. The secondary camera is 8-megapixels with a f/2.0 lens, 1/4" sensor and LED flash, significantly enhancing its low light performance. All the spec sheet numbers aside, the actual, real-life performance of the camera boils down to the software optimization and the amount of research put in its development.

The Micromax Selfie 2 Note is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD expansion. The GPU is an ARM Mali T720 and the battery is a non-removable 3,000mAh Li-ion unit. The device also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and is expected to run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. Micromax's decision to go with a MediaTek SoC is questionable, as they are outperformed by even a generation old Qualcomm counterparts.

The Micromax Selfie 2 Note is a dual SIM phone with one SIM compatible with 4G and VoLTE and the other compatible with 3G. Other connectivity features include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. All that being said, the device is a budget smartphone, with some features being slashed to reduce the price.
