Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM

The Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM is yet another budget smartphone that comes with attractive specifications which include a Snapdragon 200 chipset for good performance, an 8-megapixel autofocus primary shooter and 8GB expandable storage.

The device features a 5-inch HD display with (1280 720 pixels) screen resolution which results in a pixel density of 294 PPI. The device has decent viewing angles. The smartphone is available in cyan, orange, white and black colour variants. It is 9.35 mm thick and weighs a hefty 152 grams.

The phone runs the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system with Lumia Denim on top. While not as advanced as iOS or Android, Windows Phone is great for those who like a smartphone that is simple to use and gets the basic right, without being too heavy on the battery. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz and 1GB RAM which promises faster performance and easy multitasking. The device also comes with an internal storage capacity of 8GB, with a microSD slot that can add up to 128GB of further space. Of course, people can also move their files to cloud storage services.

In the imaging department, it comes with an 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for clicking selfies and making effective video calls. The cameras are pretty standard fare for what we see on most phones in this price segment, but Nokia's prowess with cameras means users can expect a better than average imaging experience.

Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 port alongside dual-SIM support. It is fuelled by a Li-Ion 2200mAh battery that can last up to 14.5 hours on 3G calls, and even more if users switch to a 2G connection.
