OnePlus has introduced their third generation of flagship device, named OnePlus 3 followed by its predecessor OnePlus 2. The latest offering comes with eye-catching specifications and a plenty of improvements over its predecessor. It is expected to attract due attention. The OnePlus 3 has anodised aluminium unibody carved out of space-grade aluminium, and still weighs only 158 grams. It is among the best built devices in the mobile phone market. The device measures 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.4mm and sold only in graphite colour.

The device flaunts a big 5.5-inch full-HD Optic AMOLED display that reproduces vibrant colours and clear images with a pixel-density of 401 PPI. OnePlus 3 comes with 4th generation of Corning Gorilla Glass protection that ensures the display remains scratch-free, and sustain drops upto an extent. The display performs good under direct sunlight, as a result of AMOLED panel, the viewing angles are great too. Imaging is taken care by a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera equipped with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and optical image stabilisation (OIS), that help with focusing faster and delivering blur-free image. The image quality is among the best in its price range. Images taken in daylight contain a lot of details, also the low-light images turn out pretty well with low visible grains. The rear-facing camera can record videos upto 4K resolution. On the front, the device hosts an 8-megapixel front-facing camera that can be used for capturing selfies and making video calls, it is coupled with selfie enhancing features.

OnePlus 3 ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the third generation of OnePlus’s own Oxygen OS skin on top. The Oxygen OS looks very similar to stock Android OS but OnePlus has managed to provide it with number of customisability options, one of them is the option to use hardware buttons or on-screen buttons for navigating through the OS. Under the hood, the OnePlus 3 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset containing two Kryo cores clocked at 2.2GHz and other two Kryo cores clocked at 1.6GHz. The device showcases serious graphics processing power with class-leading Adreno 530 GPU that can easily handle all graphic demanding games. The chipset is built on 14nm FinFET technology, this technology is meant to fit more transistors, that carryout all the processing, hence more  transistors deliver more processing power. The device is coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM making it excellent device for multitasking. OnePlus 3 is one of the most powerful device in the market to date. The device also shines in the storage department as there is 2nd generation of UFS (Universal Flash Storage) onboard, holding a capacity of 64GB. Sadly, the storage cannot be expanded as the device misses out on microSD card slot.

The device is fuelled by a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery which is expected to keep your device up and running for an entire day with heavy usage. OnePlus has equipped the device with Dash Charge technology that helps the device charge over 60% in just 30 minutes, without heating up the device. It ships with 6V/4A charger churning out 20 watts of power.  Connectivity options that tag along with the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC and a reversible USB Type-C port. One important inclusion is the NFC which was absent in the OnePlus 2. The device also features dual-SIM option.

The OnePlus 3 features fingerprint scanner just below the display, that doubles up as home button, it can be used to unlock the device and it can store upto five fingerprints.
