Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) is an upgraded version of the original Galaxy A5. The 2016 version comes with major upgrades and ships with a host of new features.

The Galaxy A5 2016 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and supports Samsung's proprietary mobile payment service, Samsung Pay. Secured by the fingerprint sensor, Samsung Pay is simple and safe and works with both Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Filed Communication Technologies (NFC).

The smartphone flaunts a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The big screen lets you enjoy videos and games thus providing a unique visual experience. Samsung has also included Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that protects the screen from getting scratches. The Galaxy A5 2016 is 7.3 mm thick and weighs a hefty 155 grams.

In terms of imaging, the Galaxy A5 2016 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera that can be used for clicking images and recording videos. To provide more enhanced and brighter images, the camera comes with optical image stabilization which also prevents image blurring. The front and rear f/1.9 lens allow users to click bright images in dark environments. For selfies and video calls via Messenger and Skype, there is the same 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

To pave way for lag-free and flawless performance, the device is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. Storing apps and data should never be a problem as the smartphone comes with 16GB of onboard storage space which can further be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

For connectivity, there are an array of options to indulge upon like 4G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, NFC and a microUSB 2.0 port. Adding fuel to the device is a Li-Ion 2,900 mAh cell that comes with fast charging support and is expected to keep the device functioning throughout the day.
