Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime

Xiaomi, following the launch of Redmi Note 2, has come up with yet another variant of the Note. The latest offering known as the Redmi Note Prime comes with a more powerful chipset and a bigger battery. The phone is priced below Rs. 10,000 in India

The smartphone ships with a 5.5-inch HD display which offers a 178-degree viewing angle and produces crisp and clear images. Also, the device can be easily read while outdoors. Over a big screen, you can enjoy videos, play games and browse the web. The device runs MIUI 7 based on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

In terms of imaging, the Redmi Note Prime replicates the Redmi Note 2 as there is the same 13-megapixel rear camera on board. The camera supports Full HD video recording and also comes with an LED flash which helps in low-light photography. On the front, to take selfies and make video calls the smartphone has a 5-megapixe front-facing camera.

To let things run smoothly, the device is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset at a clock speed of 1.2 GHz as opposed to the MediaTek SoC on the Redmi Note 2. There is 16GB of onboard storage which can be used for storing apps and other data. The internal storage on the smartphone can further be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The Redmi Note Prime can also be used for lag-free multitasking as it has 2GB of RAM.

Connectivity options remain unaltered. The Redmi Note Prime comes with options such as 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a microUSB 2.0 port. It also has dual-SIM support. The smartphone is fuelled by a Li-Ion 3,100 mAh removable battery that lasts really long and is available in white colour.
