Xolo Cube 5.0

The Xolo Cube 5.0 is one of the few Android smartphones on the market that run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, making it more desirable existing devices in the same price range.

The Cube 5.0 has a 5-inch LCD display that is quite sharp thanks to its HD (1280x720 pixels) resolution. It should also have wide viewing angles as it uses IPS LCD technology, and colours should be natural and true to real-life. Pushing those pixels is a Mediatek MT6582M processor, which is a quad-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.3GHz. More cores don't always mean better performance, but with the 1GB of RAM on-board, the four processing cores should help in keeping the multitasking experience at a usable level.

The camera department is well-equipped on the Cube 5.0, thanks to an 8-megapixel camera on the back for capturing images, with an LED flash and autofocus support for good image quality in most lighting conditions. Selfie addicts can take advantage of the 2-megapixel camera on the front, which should be able to suffice most of the time while not being as high-resolution as the cameras on costlier devices. Naturally, the phone can record videos as well.

Xolo is offering 8GB of internal storage on the Cube 5.0 for storing images, videos, documents, and other files. Those looking for more storage can add a microSD card to the device, or move their data to various cloud services that can be accessed on the Google Play Store on Android 5.0 Lollipop. For connecting to the internet, the phone comes with support for 3G networks and Wi-Fi, and also includes Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS for connecting to other devices and for real-time navigation.

A 2,100 mAh battery takes up the back of the device for keeping the lights on. The battery is rated for talk time of up to 24 hours on a 2G network, and up to 600 hours of standby time, which is rather impressive for the battery capacity.
