Apple iPad Air

Apple iPad Air is the next generation tablet from Apple and as the name suggests, the device has been made substantially lighter and thinner compared to any other previous generations iPad. iPad Air is just 7.5 mm thick and 469 Grams as against 9.4 mm and 662 Grams respectively in its predecessor. The tablet sports a 9.7 inch retina display with screen resolution of 1636x2048 pixels that gives an effective pixel density of 264 PPI. It is also worth noting that the display of iPad Air is scratch resistant and comes with oleo-phobic coating that helps making fingerprint smudges almost invisible on the surface of the screen. The device is powered with the latest Dual Core Apple A7 processor and has 1 GB of RAM.

iPad Air has a 5 MP auto-focus primary camera on the rear that shoots photos at 2592x1944 pixels resolution and also has the capability of shooting full HD videos at 30 FPS. It also has a 1.2 MP secondary camera on the front that can record videos in HD (720P) resolution. The front camera can be used for facetime and video calling over cellular or Wi-Fi networks.

iPad Air is available in 2 variations - Wifi and Wifi + Cellular options. The cellular version supports 4G LTE. Other connectivity options includes Bluetooth v4.0 and USB v2.0. The tablet runs on Apple's recent version of operating system - iOS 7 and comes with other Apple exclusive features such as Airdrop file sharing, iCloud cloud storage service, Facebook, Twitter and social network integration, etc.

Apple has also worked a lot on optimizing the battery performance of the device. The current battery on the iPad Air gives a backup equivalent to 10 hours of talktime on a single charge. The tablet comes in 4 storage options that is 16, 32, 64 and a whooping 128 GB internal memory.
