Apple iPhone 8 Plus

Apple announced the release of the highly anticipated iPhone 8 Plus. As expected, it features top of the line hardware in a sleek body. The phone comes in three colour variants and is available in Jet Black, Black, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold colours. The device is IP68 certified, making it resistant to moisture, dust and a variety of other potentially hazardous substances. It is water resistant until a depth of up to 1.5 meters and can stay submerged for up to 30 minutes.

The iPhone 8 Plus features a 5.5-inches IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1242 x 2800 pixels (528 ppi pixel density) which is protected by a layer of Sapphire crystal glass, protecting it from daily wear and tear. There is a 12MP+12MP dual rear camera setup with OIS, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED (dual tone) flash. It can record 2160p and 1080p videos at 30fps and 720p videos at 240 fps, making it excellent for capturing slow motion videos. It settles for a 7MP front-facing that includes features such as HDR, Panorama, and Face Detection (Face ID). Like its previous iterations, the iPhone 8 Plus offers unparalleled camera performance, rivalled only by the likes of Samsung. 

At the heart of the iPhone 8 Plus is an A11 Bionic chipset with Neural Engine. It has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with no expansion capabilities. It is powered by 2,691mAh non-removable battery, which might seem a bit underwhelming to most people, considering the fact that most modern devices come with a higher battery backup but iPhones are well optimised with their iOS ecosystem resulting in better battery output than Android devices. The device runs iOS 11 out-of-the-box and is upgradable to next iOS versions for up to five years from the date of launch. That's one of the major selling points for Apple iPhones as they enjoy longer period of updates than Android phones. 

The iPhone 8 Plus has a single-SIM slot, which supports 4G and VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type-C magnetic connector for charging and data transfer. It also supports wireless charging and has an array of sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass and barometer.
