After 11 years of delivering devices dedicated to extreme gaming, Asus ROG finally enters the mobile gaming industry with cherry-picked sensors tuned for gaming. Starting with the overclocked 2.96GHz octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with Adreno 630 GPU both from Qualcomm. The device is primed for extreme gaming with finely tuned for speed and exceptional performance. The new X-Mode raises the minimum clock speed to always keep the CPU on its toes.

The 6-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio touts a 90Hz refresh rate to take full advantage of the powerful processor to provide crystal clear image in fast-paced gaming and high definition videos.
The new GameCool systems keep the heat from the powerful processor to be dissipated at a faster rate for uninterrupted gaming for a long duration. There is also an additional option of an AeroActive cooler that comes in the box to help cool the device under strenuous gaming sessions.

Dual front-facing stereo speakers with smart amplifier 24-bit/192KHz Hi-Res Audio for clear loud sounds for an immersed gaming experience. The wireless audio is enhanced with DTS Headphone:X 7.1 virtual surround-sound Qualcomm aptX High-definition Bluetooth wireless audio.
The device is equipped with 12+8-megapixels rear-cameras; with the secondary shooter paired with a 120-degree wide angle lens for capturing spectacular images and a flash to take pictures in low light. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies, ensuring that users can always capture memorable events at a moments notice.

With the device primed for extreme performance, the Asus ROG Phone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery to keep the phone running even after long duration of gaming. The HyperCharge adapter charges the battery to 60% in 33 minutes and 85% in just over an hour. A massive 6,000mAh attachable battery further extends the users gaming run-time. The device also packs 128GB of speedy UFS 2.1 storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB to hold all the videos, pics and games along with you.

The employs Custom USB-C supports USB 3.1 Gen 11, DP 1.4, fast charging (15W) on the right edge and on the bottom, there is a USB type C 2.0, fast charging (20W) and 3.5 mm headphone jack. Coupling with the obvious 4G VoLTE connectivity, the device connects wirelessly with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ad 2x2 MIMO WiFi direct and WiGig 802.11 ad wireless display support. Along with Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, the Asus ROG phone's connectivity with any other devices is unmatched.

The device can be docked to the Mobile Desktop Dock that adds options for multiple ports or a handheld TwinView Dock that adds an additional display.
The Asus ROG Phone also has three ultrasonic buttons (two on the left edge and one at the bottom right) dubbed AirGears to reproduce game-specific gestures or perform customized functions like opening a specific app or one-handed mode. These triggers are aimed to keep your fingers off the screen like when you want to pause while playing a game or watching a video.
