Asus Zenfone Go 5.0

The Asus Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE is an entry-level smartphone with 4G LTE support and a quad-core processor. The phone differs from its counterpart, Asus Zenfone 5 with its four-core processor, IPS LCD display, and a smaller battery. The phone is available in three colors: Black, White, and Red.

The Zenfone Go 5.0 comes with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with 720p resolution and 294 PPI, sufficient for everyday use with its clarity, display of colors and excellent viewing angles. Unfortunately, the phone does not have Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone measures 5.4 mm thick and weighs 153 grams. It comes in an aluminium body with a curved, matte finish back and rounded edges. The power and volume buttons are on the right; the headphones jack on top and the microUSB port at the bottom. Capacitive home, open apps and back buttons are placed below the display in standard Asus fashion.

The Zenfone Go 5 runs Android v5.1 Lollipop OS and is powered by a MediaTek chipset that cradles a quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 processor and a Mali-400MP2 GPU. The four-core CPU will efficiently run multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal lag in partnership with the phone’s 2GB RAM. Internal storage is set at 16GB and is expandable to 64GB via a microSD card.

The 8-megapixel primary camera has autofocus and, a f/2.0 aperture and LED flash for low-light conditions, while video recording can be done in 1080p, similar to that in the Zenfone 5. The secondary camera is a 2-megapixel one with a f/2.4 aperture sufficient for selfies.

The phone supports two micro-SIM cards, 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and has a microUSB v2.0 port. The battery is a 2,070mAh Li-Po that can last for a day for a normal user. Sensors in the Zenfone 5 Go include a gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensors, and accelerometer.
