Celkon A355

The Celkon A355 carries forward the ultra low-end Android smartphone lineup from the Indian manufacturer by being yet another device with basic specifications.

The A355 comes with a 3.5-inch display that uses LCD technology and has a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The resolution is low but the small screen size should make sure that the viewing experience is sufficiently sharp. The processor is a single-core unit from Spreadtrum clocked at 1GHz and there is 256MB of RAM, and the combination isn't expected to offer consistent performance or multitasking. Given the price tag, that shouldn't surprise anyone.

For connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi, 2G and Bluetooth, and a microUSB port. Dual SIM slots are included as well. It has a basic 2-megapixel primary camera that can be used for capturing important moments, though users shouldn't expect much in the way of details or clarity in the images that the phone will churn out. Despite the low price tag, the A355 has a front-facing camera, once again with a basic resolution that will only be able to take below average selfies.

Like the RAM, the internal storage on the A355 is very low at 256MB. A microSD slot can take the load for storage purposes, but users will have to be very strict with what they store on the device. The phone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and supports popular media formats, and users can download third-party apps for formats that don't run out of the box. A 1,200 mAh battery powers the device and users should be able to eke out a day's worth of battery life if they use the device sparingly.

The Celkon A355 is another unimpressive entry in Celkon's A series of Android smartphones. None of the specifications stand out, making the A355 a good option only for those on a very tight budget or for those looking for a secondary smartphone if they're using more a single cellular network.
