Gionee Elife S7

The Gionee Elife S7 is the company s latest addition to its S series of smartphones. It sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels giving an effective pixel density of around 423 ppi. Measuring only at 5.5mm in terms of thickness, this Gionee phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on front and back. The sides on the device are grooved, what Gionee is calling a U-shaped skeleton. The frame of the handset is composed of aviation-grade magnesium alloy, stainless steel and nano-molding plastic. It is available in White, Black and Blue and Pink colors.

As far as hardware is concerned, the Elife S7 is powered by a 64-bit octa core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The processor is coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage making the device capable of supporting heavy web browsing, multi-tasking and high quality gaming. It also supports 24-bit 192 kHz Hi-Fi quality audio codec. Despite using the device for hours, users won't face heating issues as a number of cooling areas and heat radiation materials keep the phone running cooler than the competition. The dual-SIM mid-ranger runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company's Amigo 3.0 UI on top of it.

When it comes to imaging department, the Elife S7 has one of the best specifications in this range. The handset sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front snapper armed with wide-angle lens.

One of the biggest USP of this handset is its battery life. Despite having a super-thin body, Gionee has been able to magically pack a 2,700 mAh battery in the Elife S7 that is aided by a number power-saving features. Gionee researchers found that people spend 100 minutes on average on IM clients, which consumes a lot of power. Hence, the Elife S7's AMOLED display used ACL technology and dark theme to save power while the chipset is aided by Sensor Hub to make the handset more power efficient. The phone can run for two days on normal usage and can give you 33 hours of standby on just 10% charge.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, USB OTG, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
