Gionee M5 Lite

As the name suggests Gionee M5 Lite is the successor to the previously launched Gionee M5. The latest variant is a low-end version of the former but ships with hardware that one cannot afford to look down on.

The Gionee M5 Lite is powered by the same 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6735 processor to enable smooth and unhindered device performance. To allow people to work on more than two apps at the same time and ensuring that there are no lag issues, the company has included 3GB of RAM. For storage there is 32GB of onboard storage which can further be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD display as opposed to the 5.5-inch on the Marathon M5. However, the screen is bright and paired with decent viewing angles, the display works well in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Instead, of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 there is Asahi's Dragontrail Glass protection. It runs Amigo 3.1 with Android 5.1 Lollipop on top.

For imaging, you can use the 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera which can effectively be used for recording videos and clicking images in any environments thanks to the LED flash at the back. If you are selfie crazy, you can quench your thirst using the 5-megapixel front shooter.

Available in gray and gold colour options the M5 Lite is 8.5 mm thick and lies on the heavier side as it weighs 183 grams. Also, there are twin SIM slots that allow users to use two networks simultaneously. Other connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone is fuelled by a Li-Po 4,000 mAh cell that is expected to keep the device functioning for more than a day even with heavy usage.
