Honor is back in a big way this year because we’re through half the year already and we’ve seen a large amount of smartphones be released by the Huawei sub brand. We even saw the launch of a couple of 5G compatible devices. Honor and Huawei had a rough year in 2019 with the sanctions from the US which prevented the Chinese multibillion dollar company from getting access to Google services. This meant that the phones from Honor and Huawei were unable to access the Play Store, and therefore, unable to give users access to Google apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Maps. But Huawei is working on offering custom built apps via its App Gallery and hopefully the company’s loyalists will be able to access all their favorite apps soon enough. But let’s get back to the topic at hand and that is the launch of Honor’s latest budget range smartphone — the Honor 8S 2020. As the name suggests, it is the 2020 variant of the phone that first launched in April last year. The new smartphone features a 5.71-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and features a water drop notch. Under the hood is a quad core Helio A22 chipset. The device comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB of storage space and runs EMUI 9 with support for Google services. On the back, you have a single 13MP camera and for selfies, the phone sports a 5MP selfie snapper. The battery capacity of the phone is a tad low at 3020mAh. Some of the popular Honor mobile phones include the Honor X10 Pro, the Honor 9X, and the Honor P30 Pro Plus.
