Honor Play 3e

To keep the costs in check, Huawei has opted for a plastic body for the Honor Play 3e. The brand, however, hasn't refrained from experimenting with the design. The device has a dual-finish with the majority of the surface featuring a texture. The verticle stripe where the rear camera sits has a smooth finish. On the front, you get a thin-bezel design. There's a notch on its forehead while the chin accommodates Honor branding. The handset is 8.5 mm thick and tips the scales at 146 grams. The phone comes in black, gold, and blue hues.

The phone sports a 5.7-inch IPS (In-Plane Switching) display. With HD+ resolution, the screen has a pixel density close to 300 ppi. That's good enough for a budget device. Like any other IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel, this one offers wide-viewing angles and better color saturation compared to a regular LCD.

To offer gaming on a budget, Honor Play 3e is backed by MediaTek's Helio P22 chip. Built on a 12 nm fabrication process, this SoC (System on Chip) houses four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2 GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A53 cores ticking at 1.5 GHz. It has a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Indian variant comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. You can add more storage via the microSD card slot. A phone's performance also depends on its software and on that front, the Honor Play 3e comes with the company's EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie.

Coming to the subject of photography, Honor's handset features a no-frills 13 MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. It can record Full HD videos at 30 fps. Moving onto the front, there's a 5 MP selfie camera placed inside the notch. Since the phone lacks a fingerprint sensor, this camera module provides the only means of biometric security.

The Honor Play 3e holds a 3020 mAh battery. It lacks fast-charging capabilities and comes with a micro-USB port. On the connectivity front, you get dual SIM 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS (network assisted).
