Huawei P9 Plus

Huawei has unveiled the Plus variant of the P9 smartphone. The handset sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080pixels) Super AMOLED Capacitive display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection to provide scratch resistance. The touchscreen comes with an iPhone-esque 3D Touch feature that is a pressure sensitive technology. Tipping the scale at 162 grams, the P9 Plus measures 152.3 x 75.3 x7mm and is a fairly medium sized phone.

Under the hood, the Huawei P9 Plus houses a HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset with quad-core Cortex-A72 processors and quad-core Cortex-A53 processors, clocked at 2.5Ghz and 1.8GHz respectively. The Mali-T880 MP4 GPU will back up graphics and gaming within the system. The SoC is coupled with an ample 4GB of RAM. This should take care of temporary app storage and make it easier for you to switch from one app to another. The device comes with 64GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 128GB, with the help of a microSD card slot.

The P9 Plus is a dual-SIM smartphone where the second SIM slot doubles as a microSD card slot. All the core specs aside, the 3,400mAh non-replaceable cell that is expected to keep the device up and running for several hours in a day.

In the imaging depot, the Huawei P9 Plus packs a dual-lens Leica camera setup featuring two 12-megapixel rear shooters with one capturing the light in colour, while the other captures it in monochrome. Combining depth, contrast, and laser autofocus features, both cameras together offer sharp and detailed pictures in good as well as low-light settings. Videos can be recorded in high-definition (1080p@30fps). The dual lenses come with a f/2.2 aperture and are accompanied by a dual-LED flash. There are dual 8-megapixel front-facing Leica cameras thrown in as well, which is sure to please all the selfie enthusiasts.

The device runs the Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under the company's Emotion UI 4.1 interface out of the box. When it comes to connectivity, the Huawei P9 Plus offers options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2v, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, and supports 4G network. There is also a Type-C 1.0 reversible USB slot on board that helps you to transfer files to and fro from your PC.
