Intex Aqua Y4

Following the introduction of Aqua Xtreme II, Intex has come up with another low-end smartphone in the Aqua series. The Intex Aqua Y4 is an affordable smartphone which comes with minimal specifications at a modest price point. The device sports a 4.5-inch display which has decent viewing angles. The visibility degrades while the device is out in the sun.

Under the hood, is a MediaTek dual-core chipset with a clock speed of 1.0 GHz which ensures that the performance remains decent. There is 512MB of RAM which paves way for multitasking but only to a certain extent. User can enjoy low-end games and browse the web effortlessly.

Setting sights on camera, the device comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera paired with an LED flash to capture images and record videos. The LED flash helps in low-light photography. On the front there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera which can be used to take selfies and make video calls via various messaging apps. For easy access one can use the volume keys as camera shutter for capturing images easily.

The Intex Aqua Y4 comes with 4 GB of in-built storage for installing applications and media files. However, for those who require more there is an expansion slot which allows you to boost the storage capacity up to 32GB via a microSD card. Users can also use cloud storage for storing the files.

The device is fuelled by a 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery which is expected to keep the device functioning throughout the day with moderate usage. The device comes pre-loaded with various apps like Opera Mini, Quikr, Intex Service, etc.

The smartphone runs the Android 4.4.2 operating system and comes with standard connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port.

Available in black, silver and white colours the smartphone is aimed at the low-end smartphone market and is expected to compete with the likes of Nokia 530 Dual SIM and Micromax Canvas A1.
