Karbonn A5 Turbo

Karbonn A5 Turbo is one of the most low-end Android smartphones available in India. The device features a 3.5-inch LCD capacitive display, which is among the smallest on Android phones. The display resolution is very low as well at 480x320 pixels, which harkens back to the Symbian phones from Nokia from before the iPhone became popular. In terms of imaging, the smartphone does not have a front camera but it does have a 3-megapixel rear camera. In addition to the low megapixel count, the lack of an LED flash results in poor image quality.

Under the hood the device is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor with 256 MB RAM. Both the processor and RAM are disappointingly low and hence performance on the device is not expected to be very impressive. Internal storage is quite low as well at 512MB, but a microSD slot steps in to somewhat make up for the fact that users won't find much storage space out of the box. For recreation the device has an FM Radio and can play all popular video and music file formats.

The most important facet of the smartphone is that it comes with 3G support, which can come in handy for things like music streaming if users don't want to store data on the internal storage. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 port. There is a 1,300 mAh battery on the Karbonn A5 Turbo for keeping the lights running everyday, and the ultra low-end hardware means the phone should be able to offer enough juice for a day's worth of usage.

The Karbonn A5 Turbo runs Android 4.4 KitKat, which gives it brownie points as the operating system is not as average or low-end as the phone's other specifications. The device is one of the cheapest smartphones in the market, but its hardware limitations make it suitable only for a secondary device used mostly for calls.
