Karbonn Indian 9

Budget smartphone manufacturer and Intex's greatest adversary: Karbonn, announced the release of the Karbonn Indian 9 device. It is a budget device that aims to deliver only the essentials at an extremely low price. The device measures 10 x 5 x 3 cm in size and is available in Black colour.

The Karbonn Indian 9 features a 4-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 480x800. The primary camera is 5-megapixels with LED flash, and the secondary camera is a dismal 2-megapixels. As it is a budget device, the cameras have been scaled down, and their performance is sub-par.

The Karbonn Indian 9 is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a micro SD card. The device can be used as a portable media player with basic calling and internet facilities owing to the microSD expansion. Other than that, a good chunk of modern-day applications is most likely to lag, given the limited amount of RAM. It is powered by a 1,300mAh battery which will probably require charging multiple times a day. The device is expected to run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, which in itself could be taxing on the already limited processing power of the phone. 

The Karbonn Indian 9 is a dual SIM phone, with support for 4G and VoLTE. Other connectivity features include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. The Karbonn Indian 9 won't do well as a daily driver for most people but can serve as an excellent backup device or as a burner phone which can be used and promptly discarded.
