Lava Z70

Indian smartphone manufacturer and Intex's top competitor; lava announced the release of the Lava Z70, which is a part of the Z series of phones released by Lava. Like other phones by Lava, it is a budget device which aims to offer only the essentials at a reasonable price. The device is 143.00 x 71.00 x 8.30 in size and weighs approximately 140 grams and is available in White Gold and Black colours. 

The Lava Z70 features a 5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720x1080(293 ppi pixel density). The primary camera is 8-megapixels with LED flash, and the secondary camera is 5-megapixels. As expected, the camera performance is sub-par, but it is implied, as the camera is often scaled down on budget devices to help keep the price low. 

The Lava Z70 is run by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD expansion. The battery is 2,500mAh, which will require the device to be charged multiple times a day. As a bonus, it features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is uncommon in budget smartphones. The device is expected to run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, but an upgrade to Oreo seems unlikely, given the limited hardware capacity. 

The Lava Z70 is a dual SIM phone with both SIM slots compatible with 4G and VoLTE. Other connectivity features include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer. The device also has sensors such as an accelerometer, a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and a gyroscope. The Lava Z70 can serve as an excellent backup device for when your daily driver is out of commission, or as a starter phone for new/elderly users.
