Lava Z90

Budget smartphone manufacturer Lava is looking to test the waters in the mid-range segment with the Lava Z90. The Lava Z90 offers features that one would normally find in similarly priced Xiaomi phones. The device is 148.5 x 73.1 x 8.1 mm in size and weighs approximately 159g. It comes in White colour. 

The Lava Z90 sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720x1080(282 ppi pixel density), powered by an ARM Mali T720MP2 GPU and protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, making it resistant to daily wear and tear. The primary cameras are a dual 8+2-megapixels with LED flash and geo-tagging. It can record full HD videos at 30 fps. The secondary camera is 8-megapixels with autofocus and LED flash. Both cameras feature a f/2.0 lens which aids in low light photography. The quality of images captured by the camera is significantly better than that of other Lava phones. 

The Lava Z90 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.37GHz along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128Gb via microSD expansion. The battery is a non-removable 2,750mAh Li-Ion unit which is slightly underwhelming, considering that most devices at the price point offer a lot more. It also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and is expected to Android Nougat 7.0 customised with Star OS 4.1 on top, out of the box. We would have preferred to see something like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 in place of the MediaTek SoC, as the former is better in comparison. 

The Lava Z90 is a dual SIM phone with both SIM slots compatible with 4G and VoLTE. Other connectivity features include 802.11 b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and a micro USB port for charging and data transfer.
