Lenovo Phab 2

The Lenovo Phab 2 is the successor to the Phab phablet that was launched earlier. The Phab 2 brings about a host of changes that makes the device look more compact. Although the latest offering is thicker than its predecessor but the device certainly weighs much less which makes it easy to be carried around. The device price at under Rs. 15000.

The display on the latest phablet has been cut down to 6.4-inches from 6.98-inches. The big screen that comes with 1280x720 pixels (HD) resolution offers decent viewing angles and projects crisp and vibrant colours. The screen can be read even when placed under bright light without much difficulty. Lenovo still has not included any Corning Gorilla Glass protection. In terms of designing, the Phab 2 ships with a more refined and polished look. The phablet is also much lighter thus making it easily portable.

The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK8735 chipset that is paired with 3GB of RAM which enables decent lag-free performance. Working on multiple apps should not raise any issues. For storing apps there is 32GB of onboard storage which can also be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card which makes way for all your personal data. The device includes Dolby Atmos sound technology that promises great audio experience.

At the rear the Phab 2 comes with an impressive 13-megapixel camera that includes an Augmented Reality (AR) mode that allows you to add different effects and virtual objects to your photos and videos. The AR mode also allows you to change backgrounds or add cartoons and drawings to your photos and videos. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. The rear camera is also aided by an LED flash to capture images and record videos even in dark environments. Connectivity options on the latest phablet remain unaltered. The options that help you stay connected includes 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, and a microUSB 2.0 port.

The Lenovo Phab 2 runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system which provides users with the latest Android experience at an affordable price. The device packs a huge 4,050 mAh non-removable battery that easily lasts for a day on one charge.

The Lenovo Phab 2 might be odd in size but is sure to please photo and video enthusiasts considering the AR mode and the price tag.
