The Micromax Canvas Power A96 was launched back in February 2014 in India. One of the many dual SIM handsets from the Indian manufacturer, the A96 boasts of a unique feature that distinguished it from the plethora of low cost handsets in its price range. As for the other key specifications, the Canvas Power A96 gets a MediaTek MTK 6582M chipset that houses a 1.3 Ghz Quad Core processor. There is just 512 MB of RAM - which is simply inadequate by today's standards. Internal memory for apps and media is limited to 4GB. Moving on to the other features, the Canvas Power A96 gets a 5-inch display that sports a FWVGA resolution (480 x 854). As for the camera, the Canvas Power A96 gets a 5-megapixel autofocus main camera. This camera is also capable of capturing videos in HD (720p) resolution. For video calling, Micromax has provided a 0.3 megapixel (VGA) camera at the front of the Canvas Power A96.

Like any self-respecting Android powered smartphone, the Micromax Canvas Power A96 offers the user a plethora of connectivity features. These include support for Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth and GPS. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting headphones/handsfree as well. Lest we forget, the phone also happens to be a 3G capable device with dual SIM capability.

The Canvas Power A96 runs Android 4.1 JellyBean underneath Micromax s own custom UI.

As already mentioned, the Canvas Power A96 gets a massive 4,000 mAH battery under the hood giving it exceptional battery life. Micromax claims 13.5 hours of talktime and 450 hours of standby time for this device.
