Micromax Mega 2

Homegrown smartphone manufacturer Micromax has followed up the Canvas Spark 2 with the Mega 2. The latest offering, the Canvas Mega 2 is designed to deliver entertainment at a low price.

Aimed at strengthening the phablet portfolio, the Canvas Mega 2 is a mixture of plastic and glass. The handset bears a plastic body with the volume rockers and power button on the right. There is nothing much to boast about its design but one thing is for sure that it is one of the slimmest phablets around. The device is meant to provide unique visual experience at minimum cost as is evident from the fact that the phablet ships with a 6-inch qHD display. The screen on the Mega 2 is paired with decent viewing angles and offer good visibility even while outdoors. Where it falters is the screen resolution, which is too low to be able to offer a sharp viewing experience.  

At its heart, to ensure uninterrupted and seamless performance, the Canvas Mega 2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor. The device can also be used for working on multiple apps at the same time as the chipset is paired with 1GB of RAM. In terms of imaging, the phablet comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera that can be used to capture images and record videos. The device also allows you to shoot in the dark courtesy an LED flash. On the front, to support video calls and selfies, there is a 5-megapxiel front-facing shooter as well.

With 8GB of internal storage space which can further be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card, you can store all that you want. Expandable storage paves the way for storing all your personal data while the internal storage can be used to install apps. The phablet comes with 4G LTE support that offers faster connectivity compared to 3G. Other connectivity option include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a microUSB 2.0 port. The Canvas Mega 2 has dual SIM slots that allow you to use two networks simultaneously. 

The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system out of the box. The smartphone draws its power from a 3,000mAh battery that can be removed and replaced when required. The company claims that the cell on the device can last up to one day with a single charge.

The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 provides big screen entertainment as the phablet is ideal for viewing videos and playing games. Moreover, if you are a fan of big screen smartphones and do not want to spend much then the Canvas Mega 2 might be the right choice for many.
