Micromax X288

The Micromax X288 is a basic low-end smartphone from the Indian smartphone manufacturer that is aimed for general and basic usage like making calls, listening to music, etc. It is available in two colour variants: grey and black.

It has a 2.4-inch display which is small and does not help in viewing any content but can be used for general purposes like looking at the contact list and reading messages. It has double SIM card slots that allows users to use two network connections at the same time. Minimal memory capacity of 1.6MB will not help you with anything but considering it as a basic handset with very few options that is expected to do the job pretty well. However, storing music, images and other data like contacts, messages, etc is expected to go down fairly easily thanks to the presence of an external microSD card slot which can expand the storage capacity up to 8GB.

Moving on to the imaging side of the handset, given the price point, the device comes with a mere 1.3-megapixel rear camera using which you can click images but do not expect the camera to work wonders while you are in any low-light condition. There are options like multi-shot and digital zoom which will make your task a bit easier. For recreation there is an FM Radio which is designed to hold all major frequencies and also has option for recording.

The Micromax X288 is powered by a Li-Ion 1800 mAh cell which allows the device to function almost throughout the day. It also supports talk time of about 8 hours. The device can be used for basic Internet usage via GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. The phone is light weighted and can be carried around without much fuss. It weighs about 62 grams and is 15.8 mm thick.
