Motorola MILESTONE

The Android-based Motorola Milestone is among the most technologically advanced smartphones of the year 2009. The device has a slider QWERTY keyboard that sits behind the display. The Motorola Milestone measures 115.8 x 60 x 13.7 mm and weighs 165g and it is available only in black colour variant.

The 3.7-inch TFT display has an FWVGA (480 x 854) resolution and capacitive touchscreen technology. To protect the display from scratches, and damages due to the accidental drops, Motorola has equipped the Milestone with Gorilla Glass. The multitouch display that the device comes with not only increases the touch response but it also helps in taking advantage of the applications and games that support the multitouch feature. The Motorola Milestone has a 5-megapixel primary camera with dual LED flash and autofocus technology. The videos are recorded at 480p resolution at 24 frames per second. The device does not come with a secondary camera.

The Android 2.1 Eclair operating system that the device comes with is upgradable to Android 2.2 Froyo. Motorola has made a few changes in the software to take advantage of the QWERTY keyboard that comes with the device. Also, there are some cosmetic changes to the software to enhance the overall user experience. The Motorola Milestone has a single-core Cortex-A8 CPU that runs at 600MHz, and a PowerVR SGX530 GPU. The RAM size is 256MB, whereas the internal memory is 133MB and can be expanded up to 32GB.

A 1,400 mAh Li-Ion battery is in charge of powering the Motorola Milestone. The battery is of the removable type, and it provides 6 hours of talk-time.  The feature-rich Motorola Milestone stays connected with the help of 3G, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth v2.1, GPS with A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a microUSB v2.0 port.
