The Moto G4 Plus, as the name suggest is an upgrade to the already existing Moto G4. The device has plenty of upgrades over the Moto G4. The Moto G series is famous for having a solid build quality and Moto G4 plus is no different. The front of the device is fully covered with glass and to provide a grippy feel, the back of the device has patterned texture over it. The device measures 153 x 76.6 x 9.8mm and weighs 155 grams. The Moto G4 Plus is available in two colour variants; black and white.

The device features a 5.5-inch full-HD display that can provide excellent viewing angles and vibrant colours. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 layer over it. The big display further enhances the experience of browsing web, playing games, and watching videos. The device has an upgraded 16-megapixel rear-facing camera compared to the 13-megapixel on the Moto G4 variant. The camera sensor features hybrid autofocus technology, that consists of laser autofocus as well as phase detection autofocus. This technology helps in faster focusing compared to the contrast detection auto focus technology which was available on its predecessor. The Moto G4 Plus’s camera also features a professional mode that allows you to use manual controls like ISO, manual focus, and metering mode. There is a dual-tone LED flash to help in low-light conditions. In terms of image quality, the camera turns out to be the best in the smartphones of its price range. For video calls and selfies, the device has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with the OmniVision OV5693 sensor that is coupled with display flash to help in total dark conditions. To improve dynamic range in tricky lighting conditions, both the cameras features auto HDR.

The Moto G4 Plus 16GB runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, there are no customisations performed to change the look of the stock Android OS. The Moto G4 Plus 16GB is one of the most optimised device in the software section, that can be found in smartphone market. The device houses a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, that encloses four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5GHz & four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.2GHz. The graphics are handled by Adreno 405 GPU that can run all the games with ease. The powerful chipset is further paired with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM that ensures lag-free multi tasking. One additional feature that Moto G4 Plus has over the Moto G4 in terms of specs is a fingerprint sensor to facilitate users to unlock the device using their fingerprint.
