Motorola Moto X Play

Motorola Moto X Play is one of the two variants in the newest generation of Moto X phones. The device is the mid-range version of the Motorola Moto X Style. The device comes in similar size and form factor but has mid-range internal hardware.

The device sports a 5.5-inch display having a full HD (1920x1080 pixels) screen resolution. The phone has an impressive 74% screen to body ratio and has a pixel density of 403 PPI. Though the phone flaunts an impressive display resolution, most devices in the price bracket now sport QHD displays. The display comes with a dose of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to ensure longevity of the device.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset sits at the heart of the smartphone compared to the 808 chipset in the Moto X Style. The chipset comes with two quad-core Cortex-A53 processors, each having a clock speed of 1GHz and 1.7GHz. The processor comes with 2GB of RAM along with an Adreno 405 GPU. The combination ensures that the device runs flawlessly through most situations.

The device is available in two colour options black and white and ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. The device, like the Nexus phones is likely to be one of the first devices to get any further updates like the upcoming Android M update.

The smartphone comes with a 21-megapixel primary camera which comes with dual-LED flash to ensure that most colours are captured naturally. A 5-megapixel front shooter is also present on the smartphone.

All the usual connectivity options are available on the smartphone such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS and a microUSB 2.0 port. The device comes with 4G LTE support enabling high speed data connectivity. The smartphone packs a monstrous 3630 mAh non-removable battery enabling the phone to last an incredibly long time.
