The Realme 5 is one of the nicest looking phones available under the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment. It has a large, 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen on the front, and it has HD+ resolution (1520x720 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio). On the rear, there s an attractive color job, and the phone is available in two colors: Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple. The rear of the phone has a diamond-cut pattern and it is protected by a polycarbonate covering. There s a capacitive fingerprint reader on the rear.

The Realme 3, which is the Realme 5 s predecessor, had used a MediaTek Helio P70 processor with a 12nm build. The Realme 5, however, uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset with an 11nm lithography process. This processor is faster in both CPU and GPU intensive tasks. Moreover, it has more advanced connectivity features and power efficiency. The Realme 5 64GB has 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone runs ColorOS 6.0.1 software UI and it is based on Google s Android 9 Pie operating system.

The Realme 5 is the first phone in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment which comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear. It has a 12MP primary sensor (1/2.9-inch) with F1/.8 aperture, PDAF, and 4K 30fps video recording. There s an 8MP camera (1/4-inch) with an ultrawide-angle lens, a 2MP sensor with a macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, the Realme 5 64GB variant has a 13MP camera with a fixed focus lens and 1080p video recording.

A massive, 5000mAh battery powers the Realme 5 64GB, similar to other storage variants of the phone. It can easily last a day and a half on a single charge. Unfortunately, the company is still sticking to a microUSB 2.0 port instead of switching to a USB Type-C port. Other connectivity features of the phone include two SIM card slots and 4G LTE connectivity. Things like A-GPS, FM Radio, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and 3.5mm headphone jack are present as well.
