Samsung Galaxy J2

The Korean manufacturer introduced an upgraded version of the previously launched Galaxy J1, the Samsung Galaxy J2. The device is focussed at the low-end smartphone market and features decent hardware configurations at the given price point of under 10,000.

The smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch TFT screen with qHD resolution or 540p and has good viewing angles. The display is bright and has fair outdoor visibility. The Galaxy J2 is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 122 grams. The phone is available in three colors: white, black and gold.

The J2 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box on an Exynos 3475 SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and a Mali-T720 GPU. The device is smooth and brings about seamless performance thanks to the four-core processor. Also, to support multitasking, there is 1GB of RAM. The internal storage is at 8GB for installing apps with a microSD card slot which can expand the storage up to 128GB. The expanded storage can be used to store music, videos, and images.

The imaging department includes a 5-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash meant to capture images and record videos. The camera app also features touch focus, geotagging and face detection. The secondary shooter is a 2-megapixel sensor. The front camera can be used for video calling and capturing selfies. The Galaxy J2 is fuelled by a 2,000mAh removable Li-Ion battery.

There are no LTE bands for faster connectivity and ships with standard connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 port and GPS to provide real time navigation. There are two microSIM slots using which users can enjoy two different networks simultaneously.
