Vivo V3

The Vivo V3 is a mid-range smartphone priced at under Rs. 15,000 in India. The phone’s strong points include its processor, RAM capacity, and sizeable amount of expandable storage space.

The phone comes with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 720p resolution and 294 PPI pixel density. The phone is fairly slim at 7.5 mm thick and quite light at 138 grams. It has capacitive navigation buttons below the screen, volume and power buttons on the right edge, a 3.5mm audio jack on top and a microUSB 2.0 charging port at the bottom edge.

For software, the Vivo V3 runs 5.1 Lollipop with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 2.5 on top. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939v2 Snapdragon 616 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz (four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 & four 1.0GHz Cortex-A53) coupled an Adreno 405 GPU. The phone packs 3GB of RAM, which makes it quite efficient at multitasking. The chipset is also energy efficient due its eight cores. There is 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. 

It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase detection autofocus and an f/2.1 aperture that might need adequate light to capture quality pictures. There is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The camera app is loaded with features such as geotagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HD recording. The phone is backed by a 2.550mAh non-removable Li-ion battery that lasts a day on moderate usage.

The dual-SIM Vivo V3 supports 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS for navigation and microUSB 2.0. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear for added security.
