The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is the successor to the Redmi 3S Prime that was launched ten months ago. The Redmi 4 is an entry-level Android-based smartphone from Xiaomi. Xiaomi is known in India for devices with higher specifications for a lower price tag. The Redmi 4 measures 141.3 x 69.6 x 8.9mm, and it weighs 156 grammes. The Redmi 4 has very few cosmetic changes over the Redmi 3S Prime to give the device a refreshed look.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 features the same tried and tested 5-inch HD display with IPS LCD technology, but in order to make the device budget-friendly, Xiaomi has skipped the Gorilla Glass protection for the Redmi 4’s display. The photography is handled by a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Even though the Redmi 4 is an entry-level device, it features phase-detection autofocus technology that is found in high-end devices for quicker focusing. Full HD videos can be recorded from both, the front and the rear cameras.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 packs the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 435 chipset with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor and Adreno 505 GPU, for faster performance in UI as well as games. Enhancing the multitasking performance is 4GB of RAM, and for storage, there is 64GB of inbuilt memory. The Redmi 4 also comes standard with fingerprint scanner across all its variants. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 ships with Android 6.0.1 UI along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8. The MIUI 8 has a refreshed overall look as well as tonnes of features over the MIUI 7 and the stock Android.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is powered by a massive 4,100 mAh non-removable battery.
