The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G stacks a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display. The handset's display panel has a Full HD+ resolution and a punch-hole cutout at the centre which accommodates the selfie camera. The device has a 395 PPI pixel density and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone's power and volume button are located on the right side. The security aspect on the handset is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the phone also has a face unlock support. The Redmi Note 12 4G runs Android 13 out of the box with the company's MIUI 13 software skin on top.

Xiaomi is implementing an octa-core Snapdragon 680 processor to power the Redmi Note 12 4G. The System On Chip consists of 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The handset also has a microSD card support, through which users can expand the storage up to 1TB. On the back of the phone, there is a quad-camera setup. The handset features a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The 48MP primary sensor has a f/1.8 aperture. For the selfies and video-calling purpose, the Redmi Note 12 4G relies on a 13MP camera. Both the rear and front-facing camera supports 1080p video-recording.

The Redmi Note 12 4G packs a 5,000mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. Connectivity-wise, the device offers 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
