Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 smartphone in India back in 2019. Now, the company is bringing its sequel in the form of the Redmi Note 8 2021. This new device sports a 6.39-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the Redmi Note 8 2021 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset that is aided with ARM Mali G52 GPU. The phone ships with 4GB of RAM and packs 64GB/128GB internal storage. On the software front, the handset runs Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12.5 skin. In terms of imaging, this latest Redmi Note series sports a quad-camera setup. It features a 48MP primary main camera, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 2MP depth and macro lenses. At the front, the phone comes equipped with a 13MP selfie camera unit that supports Full HD video recording. The whole package draws power from a 4000mAh battery that has 22.5W fast-charging support. Connectivity-wise, the phone has dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. Other features of the Redmi Note 8 2021 include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, IR blaster, and a splash-resistant coating.
