Xiaomi Redmi X

The Redmi X uses a more premium build than what we re used to with Redmi series phones. This phone uses a glass front and back, while the chassis is made using aluminum. There is a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen at the front and it has Full HD+ resolution (409ppi). The display has a waterdrop-shaped notch to make full use of the screen real estate. The screen is protected using Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There s an in-display fingerprint reader, a first for any Redmi branded smartphone.

The Redmi X has a 48MP+5MP dual-camera setup at its rear. The 48MP -inch sensor is Sony s IMX586, and it has an f/1.8 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, and 4K video recording. The 5MP secondary sensor is used just for depth information so that the phone can capture images with background blur effect, akin to DSLR cameras. The 13MP fixed-focus camera at the front is used to capture selfies and video calls. It can also record Full HD 1080p 30fps videos.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset is used in the Redmi X, and it is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There s a dedicated microSD card slot for further storage expansion, by up to an additional 256GB. The phone runs Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10 software with a lot of features, including Dual Apps, Second Space, Mi Cloud, a much better image editor and video player, App Lock, wallpaper carousel, and themes.

A 4000mAh battery powers the Redmi Note X, and that is similar to many mid-range Xiaomi phones. The battery can be fast-charged using the Quick Charge 4 standard over the USB Type-C port. Connectivity features include A-GPS, dual-band Wi-FI a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Google Cast, Bluetooth 5.0, IR port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
