Xiaomi announced the release of the Y series of their popular Redmi devices. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 4GB RAM is a mid-range device and has specifications and a price similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the difference being the Redmi Y1 4GB RAM has been designed specifically for Indians, with several India centric features such as customised text for railway bookings and a calendar that shows all major Indian holidays. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 4GB RAMfeatures a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720x1080(267 ppi pixel density). The primary camera is 13-megapixels with LED flash, and the secondary camera is 16-megapixels with a f/2.0 lens. The primary focus is set on the secondary camera, which is capable of shooting crisp, clear images under a variety of lighting conditions. 

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 4GB RAM is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.3GHZ along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD expansion. The battery is a non-removable 3080mAh Li-ion unit which does not support any version of quick charge. The device is expected to run Android Nougat 7.0, customised with Xiaomi's latest skin; Miui 9, which offers a range of exciting features which include a virtual assistant. Lastly, the device features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 4GB RAM is a dual SIM phone with both slots compatible with 4G and VoLTE.
