Apple iPhone 5 Details

The sixth-generation of Apple's popular iPhone lineup, the iPhone 5 introduces major upgrades, such as a larger screen, a metallic body, and Apple's powerful A6 processor.
After years of sticking to a 3.5-inch display, Apple has upgraded the iPhone 5's display to a 4-inch unit. The company's trademark Retina Display technology is in play here as well, offering a high pixel density (with a screen resolution of 1136x640 pixels) and, as a result, extremely sharp visuals. Like previous iPhones, the display is tuned to produce realistic images and has a touch experience unlike any other smartphone on the market.
The iPhone 5 is considerably more powerful than the iPhone 4S thanks to the new Apple A6 processor under the hood. The processor has two 1.3GHz cores that are twice as fast as the ones on the iPhone 4S, a tri-core PowerVR GPU, and 1GB of RAM. These specs aren't all that glitzy, but the optimized nature of Apple's iOS operating system means the iPhone 5 is extremely fast and smooth in every aspect.
Imaging is handled by an 8-megapixel Sony sensor on the back. Don't let the megapixel count fool you, as the iPhone 5 takes some of the most consistent and pleasing images of any smartphone. Users don't need to fiddle with any settings and can simply point and shoot to capture impressive photos and videos. The front camera houses a 1.2-megapixel and can be used for selfies and for making video calls over Apple FaceTime.
The iPhone 5 introduces iOS 6, adding multiple new features such as mobile hotspot, improved multitasking, Apple's own Maps application, and more. Connectivity options include support for Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0 (though the device still doesn't support transferring files over Bluetooth.) The battery on the iPhone 5 offers up to 8 hours of talk time, 10 hours of video playback on a Wi-Fi network, and up to 40 hours of music playback. The iPhone 5 comes with 16GB internal memory and does not have a micro SD slot for further expansion.
