Realme 8 5G

Realme has now come up with the 5G variant of the recently launched Realme 8 series. Dubbed as the Realme 8 5G, the handset packs exciting specifications under the hood. The company has recently come up with Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro that supports 4G network connectivity. In terms of specifications, the Realme 8 5G sports a 6.4-inches Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 411ppi pixel density. The display is bezel-less and comes with a punch-hole type design for the selfie camera. The phone has a quad-camera setup on the back featuring a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP mono camera. On the selfie front, the phone features a 16MP camera at the front. The internal storage capacity of the smartphone is 128GB, and the device supports expandable storage of up to 256GB through a microSD card. For security, the device houses an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Realme 8 5G packs a 5000mAh Li-ion battery with support for 30W fast-charging support. It can be charged via a USB Type-C port. The device comes pre-installed with Android v11 operating system based on Realme UI. Verdict
Realme 8 5G is a decent phone under the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment. The phone has a smooth AMOLED display; its 90 Hz refresh rate is quite smooth. On the hardware front, the phone is provided with an impressive 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal memory with expandable memory support of up to 1TB. To address the power requirements, the phone includes an impressive 5000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. The phone does not have any screen protection and disappoints users owing to its lackluster camera performance.

Design and Display
The Realme 8 5G comes with a 6.4-inches Super AMOLED display having a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels that translates into 411ppi pixel density. The bezel-less display offers an aspect ratio of 20:9 and accounts for a large viewing experience. The phone has a punch-hole cut out at the top left corner to accommodate the selfie camera. There is an on-screen optical fingerprint sensor for security.

In terms of photography and videography, the Realme 8 5G houses a quad-camera setup on the rear along with an LED flash. The four cameras on the rear include a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. For selfies and video chats, there is a 16MP snapper at the front. There is an on-screen optical fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication.
