Samsung Galaxy A52 8GB RAM

The South Korean giant Samsung has added one more new offering to its mid-range A-series, the Samsung Galaxy A52 8GB RAM. It comes as a successor to the Galaxy A51 that was launched last year. The notable features of the phone include a punch-hole AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a rectangular camera module housing the quad-rear cameras. The smartphone comes with IP 67 certification, thereby making it dustproof and water-resistant. The phone sports a 6.5-inches Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 405ppi pixel density. In terms of optics, the rectangular camera module on the rear houses the quad-rear cameras. The primary lens of the quad-camera setup is 64MP, followed by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. For selfies and video chats, Samsung has provided a 32MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. For storing user data and files, the phone packs 128GB internal memory that is further expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card. The phone ships with a massive 4500mAh battery for powering the handset. The battery includes support for 25W fast-charging and can be charged via a USB Type-C port. The phone boots with Android v11 operating system. The other popular mobiles from the brand include Samsung Galaxy F62(128 GB), Samsung Galaxy M51(128 GB), and Samsung Galaxy M12(64 GB).

Verdict
Samsung Galaxy A52 competes in a crowded market with average hardware in tow. Yes, the Super AMOLED screen is a big plus but only supports 90Hz refresh rate at this price. The cameras do a decent job and even the selfie camera is quite competent. But having 4500mAh battery might not prove adequate for most power users. Worth going for if you rely on a brand name and want to avoid the Chinese devices. Otherwise, much better options available in this price range.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 8GB RAM is available in four color variants - Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Violet. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 159.9 x 75.4 x 8.4mm and weighs 189 grams. The Super AMOLED display measures 6.5-inches with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The bezel-less display with a punch-hole cutout at the centre has a pixel density of 405ppi.

For photography and videography, the smartphone features a rectangular camera module on the rear housing the quad cameras. They include a 64MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth camera.
