IBall mSLR Cobalt4

iBall, the Indian smartphone manufacturer has added a new device to their existing smartphone catalogue. The mSLR Cobalt4 is an entry-level smartphone that comes with detachable lenses.

Targeting the low-end market, the iBall mSLR Cobalt4 is powered by a 1.4 GHz octa-core SoC which is grafted to provide seamless performance. Users can multitask effortlessly using 1GB of RAM. Although working on more than two apps at the same time is not recommended as it is expected to affect the performance of the device. It comes with 8GB internal storage capacity which can be expanded up to 32GB using the microSD card slot.

The most amazing feature about the device is that it ships with a lens mount with four lenses which includes a fisheye lens (175-180 viewing angle), a macro lens, a wide angle lens and an 8x zoom lens. It has an 8-megapixel autofocus primary camera which can be used to capture images and videos. Night-life photography is decent all thanks to the dual-LED flash. On the front, there is a 3.2-megapixel front shooter for all selfie lovers.

A 5-inch qHD display produces fair images but the display quality degrades once out in the sun. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has dual-SIM support which allows users to use two different network connections simultaneously. The device also ships with a free pouch and a cleaning cloth for the lenses.

There are standard connectivity options bundled with the device. It includes 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a microUSB 2.0 port. Also it has a 3.5 mm audio jack meant for recreational purposes. It is backed by a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery.

Overall, the smartphone is designed for photography, considering the price point and the amount of accessories it comes with the device is worth buying. The USP of the smartphone is the inclusion of four lenses that photographers will love to get their hands on.
