The successor to the Intel Aqua i5, the Aqua i5 HD is targeted at the burgeoning budget segment. Launched in the vicinity of 9,900, the device can now be bought for just 7,999, making it a much more lucrative option.

In terms of the hardware, the Aqua i5 HD (which evokes memories of Intel s Core i5 thanks to its naming convention) offers a 5-inch 720p display, quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal Memory and a microSD card slot.

Interestingly, Intex is offering 5GB of cloud storage, dubbed Intex Cloud, to everyone buying the Aqua i5 HD. In terms of connectivity, the device offers 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio and GPS/ A-GPS. Although the device itself has great hardware, it looks like issues with earlier manufacturing runs have left several customers with faulty screens and imaging sensors. IT is common for nascent manufacturers such as Intex to encounter issues during initial manufacturing, although in recent times more established vendors such as HTC and Asus have also come under criticism for badly-made initial batches of their devices.
