Lava Iris Alfa L Details

The Lava Iris Alfa L is among the newest handsets to have been launched by Indian phone maker Lava. Launched earlier this year in April, this handset is touted to be a successor of the famed Lava Iris Alfa which was available since mid 2014. The Lava Iris Alfa L is a large screen phablet thanks to its display that measures 5.5-inches across. The display has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and is capable of displaying 16.7 million colors. The rather low resolution on a large display endows it with a PPI density of 200 which is still decent.
Under the hood of the Lava Iris Alfa L is a MediaTek chipset which has not been specified by the manufacturer. The chipset houses a 1.3 Ghz Quad core processor. There is 1GB of RAM as well as 8GB ROM. There is 3.55 GB of memory for apps and 2.32 GB for the user. The phone supports memory expansion using microSD cards.
The Lava Iris Alfa L happens to be a dual SIM handset with support for dual standby. It supports 3g and 2g networks. Pretty much everything is covered on the connectivity front thanks to its support for Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS and USB. The 3000 mAH battery that the phone boasts of is capable of endowing the phone with 22 hours of talktime on 2g networks. On 3g networks, this comes down to around 13 hours.
Moving on to the camera, the Lava Iris Alfa L boasts of an 8 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The main camera is also capable of Full HD video capture at 60 fps and has LED flash for low light imaging. The front camera is best used for casual selfies and the occasional video calls.
On the software front, the device is up-to-date right from the time of its launch owing to the fact that it comes loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
