Lava Iris X1

Home grown manufacturers Lava unveiled a new low-cost Android device in the form of Iris X1. The smartphone priced at Rs 7,999 it competes with other devices in the similar price segment like Moto E. The front and the back are completely flat with a chrome band going all round its side.

The device features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with FWVGA (854 X 480 pixels) screen resolution which boasts an effective pixel density of 218 PPI. The dual-SIM device is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 138 grams. The budget smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera which is capable of capturing quality images thanks to the presence of LED flash. Other features include Full HD video recording. The device also houses a 2-megapixel front camera which will please all selfie lovers. The front camera can also be used to record videos and make video calls.

Under the hood, the new Lava Iris X1 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom processor paired with Broadcom VideoCore IV GPU. The device is available in two different colour variants, namely: Black and White. In terms of memory, it has 1 GB RAM coupled with an internal storage capacity of 8 GB which can be expanded via microSD card up to 32 GB. The phone also hosts an FM Radio which has recording capacity.

Apart from this, the device supports playback of all the common multimedia file formats like MP3, MP4, WAV, AAC, etc. Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and microUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone also comes with pre-installed applications like Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Photo viewer, etc. Providing fuel to the device is a Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery which supports talk time up to 9 hours.
